Hello, I'm Sofía López.
As a Queer Latina artist, my journey is guided by a profound exploration of identity and nature. Through the lens of mixed media and nature photography, I seek to unveil the intricate tapestry of living organisms and the myriad complexities they embody.
Driven by a deep curiosity, I delve into the interconnectedness of humanity with the natural world. Within my work, I strive to illuminate the interplay of culture, identity, and wildlife, fostering connections across diverse communities and orientations.
At the heart of my artistic expression lie themes of intimacy and vulnerability, inviting viewers to engage with the raw essence of existence.
I hold a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Georgia, with minors in Studio Art and Microbiology. This multidisciplinary background fuels my creative process, allowing me to blend art and science seamlessly. Through photography, videography, and graphic design, I craft narratives that bridge the gap between disparate worlds.
I am deeply committed to amplifying the voices of underrepresented communities, leveraging my bilingualism and interdisciplinary skills to advocate for marginalized perspectives. My art serves as a conduit for meaningful dialogue, sparking conversations that transcend cultural boundaries and inspire collective understanding.
